According to an article in the Chronicle for Higher Education, nine colleges and universities received money to a whopping total of $45 million. Interestingly, the article goes on to say that they do not have a clue as to who the donor is.

The good news about it, though, is that the colleges were directed by the lawyers that actually gave them the money to use it primarily for college scholarships. Obviously, if you are looking to get financial aid for your college degree, then you want to consider one of these colleges.

Here is a list of seven of the schools:

  1. University of Colorado at Colorado Springs
  2. Norfolk State University
  3. Purdue University
  4. University of Southern Mississippi
  5. University of North Carolina at Asheville
  6. University of Maryland University College
  7. Pennsylvania State University at Harrisburg.

While most other schools do offer some kind of college scholarships and financial aid, you now especially know that these have some money available. Even if you have not considered one of these colleges up until now, you may want to consider distance learning.

Most colleges offer various forms of distance learning now and it could be that you may want to apply for that purpose. Online education is a great way to get your college degree and it allows you to do it with less interruption in your life. In fact, it can be very convenient.

Online education also gives you a lot of options in terms of the forms of education you want. You can select from “attending” a class online, to self-directed study. Many colleges are using SecondLife as the medium to convey their instruction.
