The American InterContinental University was started in 1970 and has rapidly grown since then to become a source of international education. Campuses are located in several major cities which includes Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, South Florida, and London, England. In order to facilitate students who are not able to attend the physical classrooms, they also have created their AIU Online Webpage to assist those getting an online degree.
The University offers college degrees that range from Associate Degrees through Master’s Degrees. The college emphasizes its use of industry-current knowledge and skills so that their students are able to get the most from their career training to prepare them for real-world career preparation. The American InterContinental University focuses on seven different career fields. These include Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Education, Healthcare Management, Information Technology, Marketing, and Visual Communication.
AIU offers what they call “Blended Learning.” This involves a combination of learning in a classroom situation combined with online learning. Some courses are not available online and will have to be taken on campus.

Students that are taking online courses have access to a wide range of materials. Courses are given in two five-week sessions, and there are four quarters in a year. The school follows the principle that adult students focus and learn better when taking only one or two courses at a time.
Once a student gets near graduation, the University has a Career Services Department.
They will help the student to secure employment and provide counsel so to help students land possible jobs.
AIU also offers the opportunity to study abroad. Their goal is to help students learn a new culture, worldview, and lifestyle. The primary place of learning is in London, England, but students may also have the opportunity to travel to Paris, France and Cape Town, South Africa.
