Kaplan University offers distance learning courses to students, and has been around since 1937. It has gone through three different name changes over the years, and has been known as Kaplan College, Quest College, and the American Institute of Commerce (AIC). It arrived at its current name of Kaplan University when it started offering online Master’s Degree programs in 2004. It is a subsidiary of the Washington Post Company.

The online university also offers the new Small Business Practice LLM.

Everything is done online, and of course there is the usual homework and other projects. Kaplan has been offering the high school program since 2001. When the coursework is completed, the student earns a traditional high school diploma, not a GED. They also offer classes as a Prep School to help students get ready for college.
In addition to the accredited online degree programs, Kaplan University offers students further help in their careers. They have a Career Resources Center and provide counseling for careers, a job placement service, virtual career fairs, and much more.
